Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November, with Cyber Monday on 30 November. Retailer deals are not live yet. Based on 2025 pricing, here is what to expect and what to watch:
- Realistic discount range: 15–21% off DJI drones, 20–35% off Potensic, Holy Stone and HoverAir. Anything advertised as “60% off” a drone is almost always an inflated list price.
- The 2026 complication: new DJI models can no longer get FCC equipment authorisation in the US, so US stock is finite. Availability may matter more than the discount this year.

Black Friday is still the single best day of the year to buy a drone in the US, but 2026 is the strangest one yet. The discounts themselves should look much like last year’s. What has changed is supply: the regulatory picture has made new DJI stock harder to replace, which cuts both ways for buyers. Some models will be discounted to clear; others may simply disappear instead of going on sale.
This page is a pre–Black Friday watchlist, not a list of live deals. The 2026 offers have not been published yet. Everything below is built from what retailers actually charged on Black Friday 2025, what each drone costs today, and where the 2026 market is heading — so that when the deals land you already know what a genuine one looks like.
When Is Black Friday 2026?
Black Friday 2026 is Friday 27 November 2026. Thanksgiving falls on Thursday 26 November, and Cyber Monday is Monday 30 November 2026. Most large retailers now run a Black Friday “week” rather than a single day, with the first drone discounts typically appearing in the second week of November.

Black Friday 2026 Is Different for Drone Buyers
In December 2025 the FCC added foreign-made drones, DJI included, to its Covered List. In plain terms: new models can no longer receive the FCC equipment authorisation they need to be legally marketed in the US. The action was not retroactive — drones already authorised stay legal to own, fly and sell, and the FCC has protected firmware and security updates for previously authorised aircraft until at least 1 January 2029.
The practical effect on Black Friday is about inventory, not legality. Through 2026, DJI products have increasingly launched everywhere except the US, and US retail stock has not been replenished at the old rate. That produces an unusual Black Friday:
- Older, well-stocked models should still discount normally. Retailers clear what they are holding, and the Neo, Mini 3, Mini 4K, Flip and Avata 2 have all been in US channels long enough to be cleared.
- Scarce models may not discount at all. A drone that cannot be restocked is not a drone a retailer needs to promote. Watch for “sale” prices that are simply current street prices.
- Third-party Amazon listings deserve more scrutiny than usual. Where DJI does not sell a model through its own US store, the seller sets both price and warranty terms. Check the “Sold by” line before the price convinces you.
- Non-DJI brands get a genuinely better Black Friday. Potensic, HoverAir and Holy Stone are sold officially in the US, discount aggressively, and have no supply question attached.
One useful signal: in October 2026 the DJI Mini 5 Pro reached a record-low on Amazon at roughly $80 off its $759 list, and the DJI Mini 3 fell to about $150 off its $419 list during Prime Big Deal Days. Discounting is clearly still happening — it is just less predictable by model than it used to be.

The most useful thing anyone can give you before a sale is last year’s actual numbers. These are the prices DJI and Amazon ran on Black Friday 2025, as reported by DroneDJ on 21 November 2025. Treat them as the baseline a 2026 deal has to beat.

Three things stand out, and all three should shape how you shop in 2026. First, DJI discounts cluster at 15–21% — not the 40–60% you see advertised on no-name drones. Second, the drone-only SKU often carries the same percentage as the bundle, so the bundle is where the dollar saving is largest. Third, the entry tier moved the most: a $159 Neo is a genuinely different proposition from a $199 Neo, where a $100 cut on a $2,000 flagship barely changes the decision.
Non-DJI brands went deeper. Potensic ran up to 20% off its own store, the ATOM LT was 26% off at Amazon, and the Holy Stone HS420 hit 33% off. The HoverAir X1 came down to around $349 from $439. That pattern — budget brands cutting harder than DJI — has held every year, and it is the single most reliable thing about drone Black Friday.

These are the models worth setting an alert on, grouped by what you would actually spend. Prices shown are current list prices as of October 2026; the “target” is what a 2025-equivalent discount would produce. If a 2026 offer does not reach the target, it is not a real Black Friday price.
Under $200 — First Drone or Gift
The DJI Neo at $169 is the cheapest drone DJI sells, and at Black Friday pricing it is the best sub-$200 drone in the US by a wide margin. Target: around $159 drone-only, or about $229 for the Fly More Combo with the controller — the combo is the one worth having, because the bare Neo is phone-controlled only.

$200–$500 — The Sweet Spot
This tier sees the most movement and is where most buyers should be looking. The DJI Mini 4K at $299 is the cheapest route to a real 3-axis gimbal; at a 20% repeat it lands near $239 bare or $359 for the Fly More Combo, which is the better buy. The DJI Mini 3 at $419 is three years old, still widely stocked, and was cut to $335 last year. The DJI Flip at $439 is the newest of the three and was the surprise of 2025, dropping to $349 with the RC-N3.

$500–$1,100 — Enthusiast and Creator
The DJI Mini 4 Pro at $759 is the most-wanted drone in this bracket and historically one of the most discounted, because it has a newer sibling and DJI still sells it in the US. The DJI Mini 5 Pro, also $759 at list, is US third-party only — it has already traded well below list in late 2026, so judge any Black Friday offer against the record low rather than the list price. The DJI Air 3S at $1,099 is the mid-tier workhorse and is due a real cut: two years old, still in DJI’s US store, with no replacement announced. The Mavic 3 Pro at $2,199 is the oldest flagship DJI still sells in the US and is the most likely heavy flagship discount. The DJI Mavic 4 Pro, also $2,199 at list, is third-party only in the US — expect combo sweeteners rather than headline price cuts. At this level, factor in DJI Care Refresh and liability cover, which is often bundled free during sale events.

For the first time, the non-DJI list deserves equal billing — not as a consolation prize, but because these brands have deeper discounts and no supply uncertainty.

How to Spot a Real Drone Deal from a Fake One
Most advertised Black Friday drone discounts are measured against a list price nobody pays. These six checks take about ten minutes and reliably separate a genuine cut from a repackaged normal price.
- Check the price history before you check the deal. Use CamelCamelCamel or Keepa on the Amazon listing. If the “was” price only appeared in October, the discount is theatre. Do this now, not on 27 November.
- Compare against the launch price, not the current list. List prices on older DJI models sometimes sit above what DJI charged at launch. The launch figure is the honest baseline.
- Price the bundle, not the aircraft. Spare batteries, a charging hub and a screened controller add $150–$300 at full price. A Fly More Combo discount is usually worth more in dollars than the same percentage off the bare drone.
- Read the “Sold by” and “Ships from” lines. On third-party listings the seller sets the warranty. A cheaper grey import with no US warranty is not a deal.
- Check four sellers before buying. Amazon, the DJI Store, Best Buy and B&H frequently differ by $30–$100 on the same SKU during sale week, and Best Buy sometimes undercuts Amazon on DJI.
- Decide the model before the sale, then buy on day one. Cyber Monday usually matches Black Friday rather than beating it, and the best bundles sell out over the weekend. Waiting rarely pays; being undecided always costs.

Accessories discount harder than drones and you will need them regardless of which aircraft you buy. These are the ones worth catching in a sale:
- microSD cards. A V30, A2-rated card is the minimum for 4K/60. Memory is discounted at every event and never goes to waste.
- Spare batteries. Genuine DJI batteries rarely drop much on their own — the saving is in buying the Fly More Combo rather than adding batteries later.
- ND filter sets. The cheapest upgrade that visibly improves footage, and routinely half price in November.
- A hard case. Often thrown in free with a bundle during sale week.
